How We Rate Products
Every product on Myzaan earns its rating through a structured scoring system built around Arab-market realities - not transplanted from a Western review template.
The Myzaan Tier System
Our scores translate into six tiers. Each tier has a letter grade and an Arabic expression that captures the feeling - not just a number.
The rarest rating on Myzaan. Reserved for products that set the benchmark - the one everything else is measured against. Expect to see this once or twice every hundred reviews.
Strongly recommended. Excels in most or all pillars with no significant weaknesses. If you're buying in this category, start here.
A strong product with minor trade-offs. Earns its price. Recommended when the S-tier pick doesn't fit your budget or ecosystem.
Does the job without embarrassing itself. Noticeable trade-offs but nothing deal-breaking. A reasonable choice when price is the primary constraint.
Significant limitations affecting daily use. Consider alternatives first. We rate C-tier products because people buy them - you deserve an honest view.
Fails on multiple pillars. Better alternatives exist at the same or lower price. We'll tell you exactly why and point you to what to buy instead.
The Five Scoring Pillars
We score every product across five weighted categories. The combined score determines the tier.
Performance
Does it do what it claims? We cross-reference manufacturer specs with independent lab tests and real-world data. A product that performs well in controlled tests but fails under daily GCC conditions scores lower here.
Value for Money
Is the price justified at local Arab market pricing? We use SAR/AED/KWD pricing - not US or EU retail. A product at 200 SAR locally may score differently than the same product at $50 in a US review.
Regional Fit
How well does it suit GCC homes, climates, and lifestyles? Heat and humidity tolerance, dust and sand resistance, Arabic interface support, family-sized capacity, and local availability.
Build & Reliability
Will it last? Is the brand present in the Arab market with service centres and spare parts? A product from a brand with no local service network scores lower even with good build quality.
Ownership Experience
How does it feel to actually own? Setup difficulty, app quality, daily usability, packaging, and the small details that make a product pleasant or frustrating to live with.
